Raku
The inspiration for my latest work in clay is drawn from the visual strength and beauty of ritual objects found in many ancient cultures. I combine personal imagery with symbols from ancient cultures to create my own visual language. I chose the technique of Raku firing for this work because of its ceremonial origins. The combination of fire, smoke and water make the ritual of Raku firing an extremely exciting process. |
